Canada's Indigo Hires Fashion Exec as President

Canada's Indigo Books and Music, Canada's dominant bookstore chain, has hired Peter Ruis, a U.K. fashion industry exec, to serve as president of the bookseller, responsible for day-to-day operations.
Ruis is relocating to Toronto from London, where he was most recently the managing director of Anthropologie URBN Group. Previously he was CEO of the Jigsaw Group, a fashion retailer, and has alway worked with other retailers including John Lewis, Levis Straus & Co., and Ted Baker.
Kirsten Chapman, who was appointed president of Indigo in 2019, will be leaving the company.
