Matty Goldberg to Retire from Ingram Content Group
Matty Goldberg, v-p of sales and acquisitions at the Ingram Content Group, is retiring at the end of March 2021 after 45 years of working in the publishing industry.
Goldberg began working in the book industry in the 1970s as a warehouse manager for Brentanos. He went on to become a buyer at Golden Lee Book Distributor and later at Barnes & Noble where he helped to create the first B&N superstores. He was later a merchandise director at Waldenbooks, before joining the publishing side and working at Workman, HarperCollins, Chronicle Books, and the Perseus Books Group, where he worked for 17 years. He joined Ingram in 2016 after the acquisition of Perseus’ distribution business. In 2018 Goldberg was honored by the UJA and awarded the Harry Scherman Service Award.
Ingram v-p and general manager Sabrina McCarthy said, “Matty and I have worked together for the past 23 years, and I’ve seen first hand what a meaningful impact he’s had on this industry and his colleagues, not to mention me. We will miss him and wish him much happiness in his retirement.”
