Hart Appointed AAP General Counsel

The Association of American Publishers announced that Terrence Hart, formerly assistant general counsel at the U.S. Copyright Office, has been named general counsel for the AAP effective immediately.

Before joining the U.S. Copyright Office, Hart was previously v-p of legal policy at the Copyright Alliance. He is a 2010 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of law and is the founder of Copyhype, a legal blog.

AAP president and CEO Maria A. Pallante praised Hart as a “talented lawyer and precise thinker,” and said, “he will be a key advocate in promoting and protecting the Constitutional framework on which publishing houses lf all sizes and sectors equally depend.”
