2021 Joyce Carol Oates Prize Finalists

The four finalists for the 2021 Joyce Carol Oates Prize, an award that honors a distinguished mid-career author of fiction, have been announced. The $50,000 prize, which is sponsored by the Simpson Literary Project, has been bestowed annually since 2017. The finalists are as follows:

  • Danielle Evans, author of The Office of Historical Corrections (Riverhead)
  • Jenny Offill, author of Weather (Knopf)
  • Darin Strauss, author of The Queen of Tuesday (Random House)
  • Lysley Tenorio, author of The Son of Good Fortune (Ecco)

All four finalists will join Joyce Carol Oates in a virtual event on Tuesday, March 30, and the Prize Recipient is expected to be named in late April 2021.
