Bologna Announces First BB+ Program
BolognaBookPlus is the new professional program announced earlier this year by the Bologna Children's Book Fair. The events are being organized by Jacks Thomas, former director of the London Book Fair, and aim to offer programming for publishing professionals in the full spectrum of specialties, not just children's books. That said, its first event, announced today, will be a new rights and licensing training program focused on selling rights for children's books.
The event, called "How to Sell Rights and Understand Licensing in Children’s Books," will take place on June 13, the day before this year's fair Orna O'Brien, who was most recently conference manager for the London Book Fair, has curated the event, which will feature Giunti Editore’s LeeAnn Bortolussi, literary agent Debbie Bibo, licensing and children’s media consultant Helen McAleer, and Joanna Everard, recently of Bloomsbury UK. Belinda Rasmussen, publisher of Macmillan Children’s Books in the U.K., will chair the event.
