Garth Stein Asks Authors to Step Up for Binc
Garth Stein, author of The Art of Racing in the Rain and chair of Binc’s annual Author Leadership Circle Campaign, is asking authors and comics creators to join him in donating to a pool of matching funds to help the Book Industry Charitable Foundation raise another $1 million in its effort to reach $2 million in its Survive to Thrive grant program. The program aims to give bookstores $10,000 grants to help them through the pandemic and beyond.
“Every successful author I know can list a dozen or more bookstores that have played a significant role in their success – through hand-selling, word-of-mouth, shelf-talkers, bookseller gatherings and association shows, and good old-fashioned grit. Indeed, going on the road with a new book often feels like a family reunion, as authors are reunited with familiar bookstores and familiar faces,” Garth Stein said.
