Elizabeth Warren to Deliver Keynote at U.S. Book Show
Senator Elizabeth Warren will headline children’s day at the inaugural U.S. Book Show, a three-day virtual trade show organized by Publishers Weekly, with a keynote speech introducing her new children’s book Pinkie Promises, to be published by Henry Holt in October 2021.
Senator Warren will speak on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. EDT. The Massachusetts Senator said she wrote the book to thank all the young people and young girls who supported her run for the presidency in 2020. Pinkie Promises, she said, is a story about loyalty, female empowerment and political engagement, with illustrations by Charlene Chua.
Warren said she has “always been passionate about the role books can play in young lives. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce my first children’s book, Pinkie Promises, to the publishing community at the PW U.S. Book Show.” Warren will be joined at the show by Laura Godwin, publisher of Godwin Books and editor of Warren’s book.
Senator Warren is the author of 12 books, including her most recent book, Persist, to be published by Metropolitan Books in May. The inaugural U.S. Book Show, to be held May 25 – 27, 2021, is a three-day virtual conference conceived and crafted by Publishers Weekly to serve the bookselling, library, media and book publishing industry.
