Skyhorse to Publish PW Book Publishing Almanac Series
Skyhorse Publishing has reached an agreement with Publishers Weekly to acquire world rights to publish the Publishers Weekly Book Publishing Almanac 2022 by the Editors of Publishers Weekly, the first in a series of titles detailing every aspect of the publishing process. The first title will be released November 9, 2021.
The book will be published under Publishers Weekly Books by the World Almanac, an imprint of Skyhorse Publishing.
The PW Book Publishing Almanac series will offer detailed information on every step in the publishing process, including how to find an agent, self-publishing, sales, publicity and marketing, subsidiary rights, and audiobooks. The first volume, coming in 2021, will include sections on diversity, equity, and inclusion, the PW salary survey, and a discussion of “cancel culture” and its impact on publishing, as well as at the history of book censorship.
Sarah Janssen, executive editor of the World Almanac, said, “We look forward to collaborating with Publishers Weekly editors, who know all facets of book publishing inside and out, to create an essential, authoritative resource that will make that knowledge accessible to a broad audience."
Publishers Weekly CEO and publisher Cevin Bryerman, "Publishers Weekly is thrilled to be working with Skyhorse on the Publishers Weekly Book Publishing Almanac, a long-awaited resource for the book publishing industry. With the expertise of the World Almanac editors, the PW Almanac will become an indispensable guide for publishers, editors, agents, publicists, authors and anyone who wants better to understand this business, its history and its mysteries."
