Frankfurt Book Fair Won't Charge If Canceled

The Frankfurt Book Fair, scheduled for October 20-24, won't charge overseas exhibitors a cancellation if the in-person fair is canceled or the ticket holders are unable to travel to Frankfurt in October on short notice due to the pandemic. The effort, like last year, is being paid for by the German government.

"Thanks to support from the German government’s Federal Commissioner for Culture and Media, we can once again offer our exhibitors special conditions—something we are very grateful for," Juergen Boos, director of the Frankfurt Book Fair said. "This assistance gives all of us planning security, so we can work together to realize a successful relaunch this October after a long period without physical events and face-to-face meetings."
