Majumdar Named Editor-in-Chief at Catapult
Megha Majumdar has been promoted to editor-in-chief of Catapult, effective immediately. At Catapult, Majumdar, who acquires principally literary nonfiction but also works of fiction, has brought aboard such authors as Noé Álvarez, Ruby Hamad, Randa Jarrar, Jessica J. Lee, and Matthew Salesses.
“Megha is a unique talent who has the integrity, curiosity, and literary sensibility to be an extraordinary editor-in-chief," Andy Hunter, Catapult's publisher, said in a statement. "We are truly fortunate to have her lead Catapult’s editorial program, and I couldn’t be more excited about our future.”
Majumdar's own debut novel, A Burning, was published by Knopf in 2020. It was shortlisted for the 2021 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction and named a Today Show Read with Jenna book club pick.
