Association of University Presses Celebrates University Press Week
The Association of University Presses will celebrate its 10th annual University Press Week from November 8-12. To mark the week-long event, members of the Association of University Presses shared a “Keep UP Gallery” and Reading List that showcases books, journals, open access reading platforms, podcasts, and other efforts that highlight many of the organization's 159 member university presses.
A virtual panel is scheduled for November 10, focusing on the strengths and challenges of university press publishing and organized by Seminary Coop in Chicago. Panelists include Seminary Coop’s Alena Jones, University of West Virginia Press author Deesha Philyaw, University of North Carolina Press publisher John Sherer, and Point Reyes Books owner Stephen Sparks.
According to the Association of University Presses, which was founded in 1937, university presses publish nearly 12,000 books and over 1,500 journals each year.
