2021 Brooklyn Public Library Literary Prize Winners Announced

Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) has announced the winners of the 2021 Brooklyn Public Library Literary Prize. The Nonfiction Prize goes to Craig Taylor for New Yorkers: A City and Its People in Our Time (W.W. Norton), and the Fiction and Poetry Prize goes to Threa Almontaser for The Wild Fox of Yemen (Graywolf).

The Brooklyn Public Library Prize, now in its seventh year, recognizes "writing that captures the spirit of Brooklyn." Winners are selected by both BPL librarians and library staff. Librarians and library staff members working in BPL’s 60 branches nominated 53 books this year. The shortlist, which comprised of eight finalists, was announced in October. The winners will each receive a $5,000 prize.
