Two Booksellers Receive Binc Foundation Awards

The Binc Foundation has announced the recipients of its two professional development awards: the Indies with Impact Prize and the Carla Gray Memorial Scholarship for Emerging Booksellers Activists.

Together with Penguin Random House, Binc has awarded Sarah Bruns Putman of Bookish: An Indie Shop for Folks Who Read, in Fort Smith, Ark., the Indies with Impact prize. The award provides a two-year grant to fund a community-based initiative by the winner.

In conjunction with the Friends of Carla Gray committee, Binc has also awarded Mackenzie Van Engelenhoven of the King's English Bookshop, in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the Carla Gray Memorial Scholarship for Emerging Bookseller-Activists.
