2022 Lambda Literary Awards Finalists Announced
Lambda Literary has announced the finalists of the 34th Annual Lambda Literary Awards, also known as the “Lammys”.
Created in 1989, the Lammys celebrate the best in LGBTQ literature, and this year's award cycle had the highest ever submission volume in Lammy Award history, the organization said. Nominees include Kristen Arnett's With Teeth (Riverhead), Melissa Broder's Milk Fed (Scribner), Briane Broome's Punch Me Up to the Gods (Mariner), Akwaeke Emezi's Dear Senthuran (Riverhead), Melissa Febos's Girlhood (Bloomsbury), Lauren Groff's Matrix (Riverhead), Daisy Hernández'sThe Kissing Bug (Tin House), Aurielle Marie's Gumbo Ya Ya (University of Pittsburgh Press), Torrey Peters's Detransition, Baby (One World), SJ Sindu's Blue Skinned Gods (Soho Press), and more.
Finalists and winners will be celebrated in a virtual award ceremony on June 11, hosted by drag queen and visual artist Sasha Velour. Proceeds from the event benefit Lambda Literary’s educational programs for LGBTQ young people and emerging writers. Tickets to the virtual event are available here.
