Abrams ComicArts to Publish New Liu, Takeda Graphic Novel Series
Abrams ComicArts has acquired the Night Eaters triology, a new adult graphic novel series by the acclaimed team of writer Marjorie Liu and artist Sana Takeda, creators of the Eisner Award-winning Monstress series.
The Night Eaters: She Eats the Night, the first book in the series, will be published in October 2022. AbramsComic Arts plans a 100,000 copy first printing. The three-book deal was negotiated by Abrams ComicArts senior editor Charlott Greenbaum, who will also edit the books. Liu and Takeda were represented by Duvall Osteen of the Aragi literary agency.
The Night Eaters: She Eats the Night is the story of two Chinese American twins who endure a night of supernatural mayhem. Greenbaum said the book “will thrill contemporary horror fans—Sana has outdone herself, embracing a looser, energetic style that delights and horrifies in equal measure. This legendary team has crafted a story that is as clever and tongue-in-cheek as it is utterly terrifying!”
