BIO Announces Plutarch Award Finalists
The Biographers International Organization (BIO) has announced five finalists for the 10th annual Plutarch Award, the only international literary award for biography judged exclusively by biographers. This year's jury includes Nigel Hamilton (chair), Heather Clark, Gretchen Gerzina, Catherine Reef, and Carl Rollyson. The finalists for the 2022 Plutarch Award are:
- All the Frequent Troubles of Our Days: The True Story of the American Woman at the Heart of the German Resistance to Hitler by Rebecca Donner (Little, Brown)
- Calhoun: American Heretic by Robert Elder (Basic Books)
- Two-Way Mirror: The Life of Elizabeth Barrett Browning by Fiona Sampson (W.W. Norton)
- Francis Bacon: Revelations by Mark Stevens and Annalyn Swan (Knopf)
- Burning Man: The Trials of D.H. Lawrence by Frances Wilson (FSG)
The winner will be announced virtually during the 12th annual BIO Conference on May 15.
