2022 International Booker Shortlist Announced

The shortlist for the 2022 International Booker Prize has been announced, and includes two titles from Fitzcarraldo Editions and two titles from publishers new to the prize, Tilted Axis Press and Honford Star. The latest novel by previous winner Olga Tokarczuk to be translated into the English language is also shortlisted. The finalists are:

  • Cursed Bunny by Bora Chung (Honford Star), translated from the Korean by Anton Hur Korean South Korea Honford Star
  • A New Name: Septology VI-VII by Jon Fosse (Fitzcarraldo Editions), translated from the Norwegian by Damion Searls 
  • Heaven by Mieko Kawakami (Picador), translated from the Japanese by Samuel Bett and David Boyd
  • Elena Knows by Claudia Piñeiro (Charco Press), translated from the Spanish by Frances Riddle
  • Tomb of Sand by Geetanjali Shree (Tilted Axis Press), translated from the Hindi by Daisy Rockwell
  • The Books of Jacob by Olga Tokarczuk (Fitzcarraldo Editions), translated from the Polish by Jennifer Croft
