Lauren Groff Wins 2022 Joyce Carol Oates Prize

New Literary Project has named Lauren Groff as the winner of the 2022 Joyce Carol Oates Prize, for her book Matrix (2022). The Prize annually honors a mid-career author of fiction and comes with a $50,000 purse. The winner will also be in brief residence at the University of California, Berkeley during October 2022. 

Groff is the author of six books and a three-time finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction. She has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.

Groff and Joyce Carol Oates will participate in a live virtual conversation on May 4 to celebrate the honor.
