2022 Christopher Award Winners Announced
Father James Martin, Dorothy Wickenden, Daniel James Brown and 12 other authors and illustrators have been named winners of the 2022 Christopher Awards, which in its 73 year recognizes work that "affirms the highest values of the human spirit."
Among the winning books for adults for adults are Every Deep-Drawn Breath by Dr. Wes Ely (Scribner) and High Conflict by Amanda Ripley (S&S). Winning books for young people include The Boy Who Loved Everyone by Jane Porter (Candlewick), 10 Hidden Heroes by Mark K. Shriver (Loyola), and Dancing with Daddy by Anitra Rowe Schulte (Two Lions).
The 12 winning books are on "resolving conflict; a divergent combination of talents; unexpected collaborators and relationships; heroism and heroes; person-centered healthcare; prayer; communicating love; racism and bullying; the remarkable result of family support and survival leading to gratitude," the organization said in a press release.
