Priscilla Painton Named S&S Editor-in-Chief

Priscilla Painton has been named v-p and editor-in-chief at Simon & Schuster's flagship imprint, overseeing nonfiction. V-p and editorial director Tim O'Connell will continue to oversee fiction. Painton came to S&S in 2008 after a career in journalism, where she worked for the Washington Post, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and Time magazine. Among the authors she has edited at S&S are John Bolton, Bill Browder, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Ann Friedman, Sanjay Gupta, Walter Isaacson, and Aminatou Sow. The promotion is effective immediately, and comes a day before publisher Dana Canedy steps down at the imprint.
