Springer Nature and UC Announce Expanded Open Access Agreement

Springer Nature and the University of California (UC) have extended their 2020 deal, which tripled open access articles from UC authors in Springer Nature Journals. In this renewed agreement, UC researchers will receive financial support toward open access publishing costs when publishing in the Nature portfolio, in addition to the titles covered in the original agreement. The extension begins August 1, 2022 and runs through December 31, 2024, and will includes Springer Nature’s portfolio of over 2200 hybrid journals, over 500 Springer Nature fully OA journals, the Nature portfolio, which includes Nature, the Nature research journals, Nature Communications and Scientific Reports, and the fully OA Academic journals and Palgrave Macmillan Journals.
