Drawn & Quarterly Debuts on Comixology, Kindle Store
Often viewed as a digital comics skeptic, Canadian indie comics house Drawn & Quarterly has reached a digital distribution agreement with digital comics marketplace Comixology, to sell D&Q graphic novels and comics across the Comixology and Amazon Kindle platforms.
The new deal will make such acclaimed graphic novels as Lynda Barry’s One! Hundred! Demons, Guy Delisle’s Jerusalem: Chronicles from the Holy City, Rutu Modan’s The Property, Anders Nilsen’s Big Questions, and Chester Brown’s I Never Liked You available for sale from Comixology and from the Amazon Kindle Store.
A pioneering comics house that combined literary excellence with equally high production standards, Drawn & Quarterly released a few of its titles digitally via Kobo in 2011. But otherwise D&Q has taken its time releasing its comics in digital formats.
Drawn & Quarterly publisher Peggy Burns said, “It is fitting that on our 25th anniversary, D+Q moves forward with our list digitally with Comixology and the Kindle Store. Comixology won us over with their understanding of not just the comics industry, but the medium itself. Their team understands just how carefully we consider the life of our books.”
