Book of the Month's Book of the Year Award Longlist
The 20 nominees for Book of the Month’s annual Book of the Year award have been announced. Book of the Month’s members will cast their votes for a winner through September 21. Finalists are to be announced in October, with the winner to be announced in November. The winning author will receive a $25,000 prize, and four additional finalists will each receive $10,000 award which is known as “the Lolly” in tribute to Lolly Willowes by Sylvia Townsend Warner, the very first book ever selected by Book of the Month in 1926.
Previous winners include The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah (2021), The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett (2020), Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid (2019), Circe by Madeline Miller (2018), The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne (2017), and All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood (2016).
