Michelle Obama to Embark on Six-City Tour in November
Michelle Obama will embark on a six-city tour during the holiday season to promote her new memoir, The Light We Carry, which is being released in November, with a 2.75 million copy print run, by PRH under its Crown Publishing imprint.
The tour will kick off on November 15-17 in Washington, D.C., at the Warner Theater with Obama in conversation with Ellen DeGeneres for two nights and with Elizabeth Alexander on the third night. Obama will then go to Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, and San Francisco before winding up the tour on December 13 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles engaging in conversation with Oprah Winfrey. Other moderators during the tour include, in order, Gayle King, Hoda Kotb, David Letterman, Tyler Perry, Heather McGhee, Conan O'Brien, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Michele Norris.
Ticketmaster is handling ticket sales for the venues, and a representative of PRH said that a local indie will handle book sales at each of the stops on the tour. In an email promoting the tour, Obama assured fans that signed copies of The Light We Carry will be available for sale at all venues “while supplies last.” Obama's previous memoir, Becoming, will also be available for purchase alongside her new memoir.
