Kiese Laymon, Robin Wall Kimmerer Among 2022 MacArthur Fellows
The MacArthur Foundation has announced its 2022 MacArthur Fellows, each of whom will receive a "genius grant" of $800,000. Among this year's 25 fellows are several writers, including:

- P. Gabrielle Foreman, author of Activist Sentiments (University of Illinois)
- Martha Gonzalez, author of Chican@ Artivistas (University of Texas)
- Monica Kim, author of The Interrogation Rooms of the Korean War (Princeton University)
- Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of Braiding Sweetgrass (Milkweed)
- J. Drew Lanham, author of The Home Place (Milkweed)
- Kiese Laymon, author of Heavy (Scribner)
- Reuben Jonathan Miller, author of Halfway Home (Little, Brown)
- Loretta Ross, co-author of Reproductive Justice (University of California)
- Steven Ruggles, author of Prolonged Connections (University of Wisconsin)
