Janet Rasche to Succeed Sue Malone-Barber as PRH Pub Ops Director
Sue Malone-Barber will step down as senior v-p and director of publishing operations at Penguin Random House and retire at the end of this year. Malone-Barber began her career in book publishing in 1975 at Crown Publishers, where she worked as a customer service and telephone sales rep. She spent the last 16 years of her nearly five-decade-long leading PRH’s publishing operations.
Malone-Barber will be succeeded by senior v-p and director of publishing support Janet Rasche, effective immediately. In her new role as senior v-p and director of publishing operations, Rasche will report to PRH president and COO Nihar Malaviya. Rasche 15 years in book publishing, six of which were previously spent at Random House in publishing operations from 2005 to 2011. She rejoined PRH last year after a nine-year absence.
