Joey McGarvey, Barry Harbaugh Join Spiegel & Grau

Effective November 1, Joey McGarvey will join Spiegel & Grau as senior editor and Barry Harbaugh will join as executive editor. McGarvey and Harbaugh will report to co-CEOs Cindy Spiegel and Julie Grau.

McGarvy was most recently senior editor at Milkweed Editions and has previously worked at Alfred A. Knopf and Ballantine Bantam Dell. Harbaugh was a founding editor of Amazon Original Stories and previously worked at Harper. 

The additions of McGarvey and Harbaugh signal that the S&G team, now 14 people strong, is continuing to grow. Over the summer, S&G added five new positions: marketing manager, marketing and PR assistant, publishing assistant, editorial assistant, and publishing director. (Nicole Dewey was named publishing director in July.)
