'PW' Launches Publishing Startups Database
Publishers Weekly has officially launched its new Book Publishing Startups database, comprising 1,300 entries covering the last 15 years. Fully 800 of these startups were founded in the U.S., and all of the entries are connected to English-language book publishing. An accompanying report written by the database’s developer, Thad McIlroy, “Book Publishing Startups in the United States 2022: Industry Insights, Analysis, and Investment Opportunities,” is now available as a free download. McIlroy has also been named a contributing editor to Publishers Weekly, covering startups and digital innovation in publishing.
The live database is currently available at no charge to the public via open access. It is being updated daily as new startups are announced. McIlroy will lead a free webinar offering helpful guidance to the database on January 24, 2022. Beginning with its April 3, 2022, issue, PW plans to initiate a special custom quarterly supplement profiling various startups listed in the database.
