Publishing Company Juggernaut Announced

Chiki Sarkar, former publisher of Penguin India and editor-in-chief of Random House India, has set up a publishing company, Juggernaut, with Durga Raghunath, CEO and co-founder, who launched Firstpost and was CEO, Web18. 

Juggernaut will give authors both a digital and a physical platform, and will reimagine books for mobile at both ends of the spectrum – new ways of commissioning and rethinking the reading experience, book distribution, and payments. Sarkar and Raghunath are joined by other founding members of Jaggernaut’s team including Gavin Morris, Jaishree Ram Mohan, Nandini Mehta, and many more.

The new publishing company will publish 50 titles each year, starting in April 2016. It will be distributed and warehoused by Hachette India. The digital program, which forms a major focus at Juggernaut, will be announced shortly. For more information, visit the Juggernaut website here.
