Humble Bundle, CBLDF Team Up for Banned Books Week
Humble Bundle, the pay-what-you-want platform that offers DRM-free bundled digital content and supports charities, is teaming with the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund to raise funds for its First Amendment programs and highlight Banned Books Week.
The Banned Books Week Humble Bundle will showcase the works of cartoonists whose work has been challenged by censors, including work by Alan Moore, Julie Doucet, Jeff Smith, the Hernandez Brothers, Wendy Pini, Scott Snyder, Kevin O'Neill, Cory Doctorow and Jock. The Banned Books Week Humble Bundle ends Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. Pacific time.
Customers can pay what they wish for a bundle that includes Maggie the Mechanic (Love & Rockets), League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Vol. 3, and Bone Vol. 1. Those who pay more than the average price will also get, Heartbreak Soup (Love & Rockets), Barefoot Gen Vol 1: A Cartoon Story of Hiroshima, Essex County, among other works. Those that pay $15 get all of this plus Wytches Vol. 1 from Scott Snyder in addition to other works.
Humble Bundle also allows customers to designate part of the purchase price for these bundles to go to a charity. For this bundle the recepient will be CBLDF and the First Amendment programs it sponsors.
