Doubleday Announces Sequel to Grisham's 'The Firm'

Doubleday will publish The Exchange, the sequel to John Grisham's 1991 thriller The Firm, on October 17. The Firm was Grisham's second novel and first bestseller, and this year marks the 30th anniversary of its film adaptation. 

Rights were sold to Suzanne Herz, executive v-p and publisher at Vintage/Anchor, by David Gernert at the Gernert Company. The book will be published by Doubleday simultaneously in hardcover, as an e-book, and in audio by Penguin Random House, and in trade paper by Anchor a year later. The book has an announced hardcover first printing of 1.5 million copies.
