McSweeney's to Publish Imprisoned Egyptian Writer Ahmed Naji

McSweeney's will publish Rotten Evidence, a memoir by Egyptian writer Ahmed Naji, this fall. In 2016, Naji became the first writer in Egypt to be imprisoned for "offending public morality." He was awarded the PEN/Barbey Freedom to Write Award the same year. He now lives in exile in Las Vegas. 

Rotten Evidence, translated by Katharine Halls, will be published for the first time in English by McSweeney's on October 17.
