Countdown to Europe Comics Initiative Begins at New York Comic Con
Europe Comics, a forthcoming online initiative that will promote and sell European graphic novels in the North American market, will activate its social media accounts to kickoff New York Comic Con this week.
First announced in the Spring during a one-day conference on French graphic novels held just before BEA, Europe Comics is an initiative by 13 European comics publishers that will launch operations on November 10. The EuropeComics.com site live for promotional purposes and the initiative will formally launch its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts this week.
The Europe Comics initiative will be active at New York Comic Con and at the Frankfurt Book Fair with pre-launch promotional events. Called, “33 Days to Europe Comics,” the countdown will feature samples of forthcoming comics released via online retailers such as Comixology as well as Izneo.com, the European digital comics marketplace, beginning October 8.
The comics include such works as Djinn by Dufaux and Miralles and Ghost Money by Smoderen and Betail, with children’s titles to follow.
