U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón Unveils 'You Are Here' Book and Project
Ada Limón’s signature project as U.S. Poet Laureate, “You Are Here,” will feature two major new initiatives: an anthology of commissioned nature poems and poetry installed as public art in national parks.
The anthology, titled You Are Here: Poetry in the Natural World, edited and introduced by Limón, will be published by Milkweed Editions on April 2, 2024. You Are Here featured 50 previously unpublished poems by such poets as Jericho Brown, Joy Harjo, Carl Phillips, and Diane Seuss.
The public art initiative, called "You Are Here: Poetry in Parks," will be undertaken in partnership with the National Park Service and the Poetry Society of America, featuring site-specific poetry installations in seven national parks around the country. Limón will travel to each partipating park in the summer and fall of 2024.
