Sandra Cisneros to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award
Sandra Cisneros will receive the Ambassador Richard C. Holbrooke Distinguished Achievement Award, presented by the Dayton Literary Peace Prize Foundation. Cisneros is a poet, essayist, short story writer, and author of the novel The House on Mango Street. She will be interviewed Carla Hayden, the 14th Librarian of Congress, during the awards ceremony, to be held in Dayton, Ohio, on November 12.
The Foundation has also announced the 12 finalists for this year's Dayton Literary Peace Prizes in fiction and nonfiction. The finalists are as follows:
