Service Restored to SPD Website

The Small Press Distribution’s website, which suffered a cyberattack Friday, is back online.

Executive director Kent Watson reported that on Friday the SPD site was disabled by a denial-of-service attack, which shut down its ordering system and email communications. As Watson observed, the attack came at one of the busiest times of the year, as the distributor is in the process of shipping titles for hundreds of press. He credited quick action for getting the site back in operation on late Sunday afternoon, with all online ordering and email communications restored.

Watson said that no customer data or private information was affected by the attack.
