Namrata Tripathi Promoted to President and Publisher of Kokila

Namrata Tripathi has been promoted to president and publisher of Kokila. She was formerly the imprint's senior v-p and publisher.

Tripathi founded the Kokila imprint at Penguin Young Readers in 2018, and has since published such books as Hair Love by Matthew A. Cherry and illustrated by Vashti Harrison; Born on the Water by Nikole Hannah-Jones and Renée Watson and illustrated by Nikkolas Smith; and Antiracist Babyby Dr. Ibram X. Kendi.

At Kokila, Tripathi's upcoming projects include Black Girl You Are an Atlas by Renée Watson and City Summer, Country Summer by Kiese Laymon.

Tripathi has been with Penguin Young Readers for 10 years. Prior to launching Kokila, she served as associate publisher and editorial director of the Dial Books for Young Readers imprint.
