Berkley to Publish Four Novels from Inaugural Open Submission Program
Berkley will publish four novels received through the imprint's inaugural Open Submission Program, which launched in December 2021 and collected submissions through early January 2022. The program allowed unagented writers to submit manuscripts directly to the imprint and received more than 5,000 submissions.
The four novels from the program will be published between October 2024 and January 2025. They are as follows:
- This Cursed House by Del Sandeen (October 8, 2024)
- A Grim Reaper's Guide to Catching a Killer by Maxie Dara (October 8, 2024)
- Her Knight at the Museum by Bryn Donovan (December 3, 2024)
- Mask of the Deer Woman by Laurie Dove (January 21, 2025)
“We always hoped giving unagented authors easier access to our submission process would help us find compelling work from the widest possible community of writers," said Berkley v-p and editor-in-chief Claire Zion in a statement. "That’s why it’s so exciting to highlight these four novelists who each bring a unique and fresh perspective to their storytelling."
The second Open Submission period is slated to begin on March 18, 2024.
