2024 National Book Awards Submission Open, Judges Announced
The National Book Foundation has opened submissions for the 75th National Book Awards and announced the 25 judges for this year's awards.
Submissions will be accepted through May 15. Eligible titles must be published by U.S. publishers between December 1, 2023 and November 30, 2024. For the complete list of deadlines and guidelines, included the expanded eligibility criteria for U.S. non-citizens, click here.
Longlists for the 2024 National Book Awards will be announced mid-September and 25 finalists will be announced October 1. Winners in all five categories will be announced at the 75th National Book Awards on November 20.
This year's National Book Award judges are as follows:
- Fiction: Jamie Ford, Lauren Groff (Chair), Zeyn Joukhadar, Chawa Magaña, Reginald McKnight
- Nonfiction: Brenda J. Child, Anand Giridharadas, Tressie McMillan Cottom (Chair), Timothy Morton, Arvin Ramgoolam
- Poetry: Richard Blanco (Chair), Carolyn Forché, Tyehimba Jess, Aimee Nezhukumatathil, Rena Priest
- Translated Literature: Aron Aji, Jennifer Croft, Jhumpa Lahiri (Chair), Gary Lovely, Julia Sanches
- Young People’s Literature: Rose Brock, Huda Fahmy, Leah Johnson, Mike Jung, Brein Lopez (Chair)
