CCIC Releases Report on U.K. Comics Biz

CCIC, the Comics Cultural Impact Collective, has published a new report on the state of comics in the U.K., which found that the country's comics scene "enjoys a healthy and useful network of self-organized grassroots support, but that the resources they offer are not easy to find." The report solicited input from comics creators, academics, and representatives from unions, publishers, museums, and festivals across the U.K.

The report stressed the importance of educating creators and potential clients on the benefits of placing comics in contexts beyond the usual bookstores and securing funding for better pay and conditions for comics artists. The report also touched on industry concerns over AI and need for improvement in diversity and inclusion.
