Liese Mayer to Join Little, Brown as Executive Editor
Liese Mayer will join Little, Brown as executive editor, effective May 6. She will report to president and publisher Sally Kim.
Mayer was most recently editorial director of fiction at Bloomsbury US, where she acquired and edited such titles as Women Talking by Miriam Toews, Piranesi by Susanna Clarke, The Man Who Saw Everything by Deborah Levy, Girlhood by Melissa Febos, and Zorrie by Laird Hunt.
She previously held editorial roles at Scribner, the Overlook Press, and Grove Atlantic, where she edited books by Tom Perrotta, Elliot Ackerman, Nora Krug, and Ada Ferrer. Prior to that, she was an assistant editor at Little, Brown. She is also on the board of directors of the Center for Fiction.
Mayer is the latest high-profile appointment at Little, Brown, following that of Sally Kim in February, since David Shelley took the helm at Hachette Book Group late last year in a major restructuring.
