Summit Books' Inaugural List Grows
Summit Books is continuing to grow its inaugural list. The revived imprint has so far acquired 10 titles slated for publication in 2025, including the latest novel by Room author Emma Donoghue, a forthcoming memoir from McSweeney's publisher Amanda Uhle, and the debut novels from Rob Franklin and Katie Yee. The publisher has also acquired yet-to-be-announced books by Peter Godwin and Mo Ogrodnik.
Last month, Summit publisher Judy Clain acquired U.S. and translation rights to Donoghue's The Paris Express from Kathleen Anderson at Anderson Literary Management, which will publish on March 18, 2025. Donoghue is best known as the author of the 2010 novel Room, which was adapted into an Oscar-winning film starring Brie Larson.
Clain also acquired world English rights to Uhle's family memoir, Destroy This House, from Julie Stevenson from Massie & McQuilkin Literary Agents in a preempt. Uhle has served as the executive director and publisher of McSweeney's since 2018.
This month, Clain acquired North American rights to Yee's debut Maggie, or a Man and a Woman Walk into a Bar from Duvall Osteen at UTA. Yee is the recipient of fellowships from the Center for Fiction, the Asian American Writers’ Workshop, and Kundiman.
The publisher said it will announce more of its inaugural 10 titles in the coming days.
