Orbit Orders 100K Reprint of Romantasy 'One Dark Window'

Orbit Books will print 100,000 additional copies of Rachel Gillig's debut romantasy novel One Dark Window, originally published in 2022. The order, which the publisher said was a response to a surge of interest in the title on BookTok, marks the biggest reprint for a single title in Orbit's history. 

The second book in the duology, Two Twisted Crowns, was released in October 2023. Gillig's next book, The Knight and the Moth, is slated for 2025. 

This isn't the first time the company has ordered a reprint to keep up with surging demand for a fantasy title. In 2020, Orbit printed 500,000 additional copies of all titles in Andrzej Sapkowki's Witcher series, following the success of the Netflix adaptation starring Henry Cavill.
