2024 Eisner Award Nominees Announced
San Diego Comic-Con has named the nominees for the 2024 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, honoring works published in calendar year 2023 in 32 categories. Publishers Weekly contributor Rob Salkowitz received a comics journalism nomination for the second year running, for his work at Forbes, ICv2, and PW.
Image Comics received the most nominees, with 17 (plus eight shared), with DC Comics coming in second, with 13 nominees (plus eight shared). Fantagraphics received 11 nominations, and First Second received 10 nominations. IDW received nine nominations (plus four shared), and Drawn & Quarterly received eight. Across various imprints, Penguin Random House received 5 nominations, as did Marvel Comics (plus three shared).
Other publishers with multiple nominations include Dark Horse (four, plus one shared), Yen Press (four), Abrams ComicArts and Titan Comics (three, plus one shared, for each); Europe Comics, Magnetic Press, Oni Press, and VIZ Media (three); Comixology Originals (two, plus two shared); and Dstlry (two, plus one shared). A fuerther 11 publishers have two nominations each, and another 35 companies or individuals have one nomination or two to three shared nominations each.
The Eisner Award trophies will be presented in a gala awards ceremony to be held at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront Hotel during Comic-Con on July 26. For more information on the nominees, click here.
