Sue Fleming to Retire from S&S
Sue Fleming, VP and executive director of corporate marketing at Simon & Schuster, will retire from the company on August 15.
Fleming joined S&S in 1980 as an assistant to the advertising and promotions director and went on to join the original Summit Books imprint. In 1991, she was named director of publicity for Fireside Touchstone Books, where she worked with such authors as Steven R. Covey, Philippa Gregory, Tony Robbins, and Iyanla Vanzat, before moving into the role of VP and marketing director for the newly formed Adult Division. She then joined the S&S digital team, focusing on online marketing and content creation, before moving to her current role in 2018.
During her tenure at S&S, her projects included innovative campaigns for Stephen King titles, including the publisher's first mobile campaign and the King smart-speaker AI skill, as well as the creation of enhanced e-books, an industry first. She also developed S&S's Study 4 video program.
In retirement, Fleming looks forward to spending time with her granddaughter and perfecting her golf and tennis games.
