Terrance Hayes Among Fine Arts Work Center's 2024 Honorees

National Book Award–winning poet Terrance Hayes, multidisciplinary artist Jacolby Satterwhite, and arts and community leader Lynne Kortenhaus will receive the 2024 Distinguished Service in the Arts Award at the Fine Arts Work Center’s annual Summer Awards Celebration on July 13.

Established by the Fine Arts Work Center in 1977, the Distinguished Service in the Arts Award has honored a prestigious roster of creative innovators for their significant contributions to contemporary arts, literature, and philanthropy. Recent recipients include poets Mary Oliver and Major Jackson; U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón; playwrights Tony Kushner and Paula Vogel; and authors Michael Cunningham, Ann Patchett, and Susan Choi.
