Literary Agent Jo Unwin to Depart Publishing

U.K.-based literary agent Jo Unwin, who has helmed an eponymous literary agency in 2013, has announced that she will depart publishing to pursue a different career. Unwin began her publishing career in 2008 at the literary agency Conville & Walsh, where she was an agent.

Unwin's current authors include Jesse Armstrong, Richard Ayoade, Candice Carty-Williams, Jenny Colgan, Sarah Moore Fitzgerald, Emma Flint, Gabriel Krauze, AJ Pearce, and Nadia Shireen.

"I’ve sadly had to acknowledge that you can’t do everything, and there is so much I want to do," said Unwin in a statement. "I will miss the thrill of working with my clients and the brilliance of their writing, and I'll miss being alongside them to help confront the many challenges on the path to publication and beyond. Telling my fantastic team was pretty unbearable, but sometimes you have to make hard, even horrible choices, and with great regret I have to accept that I can't be a full-time literary agent and even a part-time anything else as well."

No announcement has been made about the future of the Jo Unwin Literary Agency.
