Publishing Veteran Brian Grogan Retires
Brian Grogan, VP of mass market sales at Sourcebooks, retired from publishing on May 31. Grogan joined Sourcebooks in 2021 and in his tenure was a driving force behind Sourcebooks’ recent growth.
Grogan's role has been filled by a series of promotions from within Sourcebooks: Raquel Latko has been promoted to associate director of sales and adult mass merchandising, managing sales and distribution strategy for adult titles into Readerlink accounts; Jess Elliot has been promoted to associate director of sales and kids mass merchandising, managing sales and distribution strategy for kids and YA titles into Readerlink accounts; and Christina Noriega has been promoted to director of special markets and gift sales, prioritizing new business opportunities.
Grogan began his publishing career in 1992 as a bookseller at Books-A-Million. He went on to work as a national account manager at the Hearst Book Group and in 2001 joined HarperCollins, where he spent nearly 20 years as senior VP of sales before retiring, the first time, in 2020.
"I will be ever grateful for Brian's commitment to Sourcebooks. In just a few years, he has left an indelible imprint on our company," said Sourcebooks publisher and CEO Dominique Raccah in a statement. "His leadership and sales strategies have been instrumental in the growth we've experienced in recent years."
