Jennifer Weiner Teams with Blue Stoop on Fellowship
Author Jennifer Weiner is partnering with Philadelphia-based literary organization Blue Stoop to launch the Jennifer Weiner Fellowship, six fellowships of $5,000 each to selected woman-identified emerging prose writers in the United States. The fellowship aims to provide financial support as well as professional mentoring, a supportive cohort, and a platform for emerging voices.
Fellowships will be awarded to at least two writers of color, at least two parents, and at least two writers living in the greater Philadelphia area. Additional details on eligibility and deadlines will be provided in the coming months at bluestoop.org/jennifer-weiner-fellowship.
"I've been so fortunate in my own career, and now I'm thrilled to be in a position to support the next generation of up-and-coming writers—especially those who might not be coming from as privileged a place as I was,” said Weiner in a statement. “Blue Stoop is an outstanding organization that has done so much to support writers locally. I'm delighted to work with them to find rising stars and give them the resources they need to tell their stories.”
