Black-Owned Indie Presses, Bookstore Win $5,000 Grant

Artika Tyner of Planting People Growing Justice Press and Bookstore in Saint Paul, Minn., and Crystal Swain-Bates of Goldest Karat Publishing in Atlanta, Ga., are among the grant winners of the 4th annual Black History Makers program, managed by Savvanah, Ga.–based specialty value retailer Citi Trends. The $5,000 grant is awarded each year to 10 exceptional Black business owners "positively impacting their community," per a release.
